What Could “The Rise of Skywalker” Title Mean?

I think the title is exciting and thought-provoking. It is very possible that “The Rise of Skywalker” could mean the rise of the Skywalker Knight order.

Luke never received traditional Jedi training and was left mostly on his own to find his own deep connection to the Force. This enabled him to think and act differently then the Republic-era Jedi. This also meant he never shed much of his negativity and immature emotional pettiness that Yoda was worried about in Empire Strikes Back. All of this combined to create a new approach and allowed him to destroy Darth Vader by believing in his own goodness, revive Anakin Skywalker in the process and save this galaxy from Darth Sidius. Yoda and the Republic-era Jedi failed in all three tasks.

The unresolved emotional pettiness and negativity then led Luke to becoming an angry and defeated old man after his first major failure. This latter part was important, because this brought Yoda to him with the same basic lesson Yoda tried to teach him in Empire. When Luke finally understood this and was able to shed the immature negativity and focus on the big picture, he became something new. He finally reached his immense potential. He attained the focused and clear-minded approach of the Republic Jedi, but was more centered on the living force instead of a military objective and destroying an opponent. Qui Gon Jinn seems to have wanted more of Luke’s approach, but constantly struggled with the deeply entrenched Jedi structure.

All of this leads to Luke, with his more Force-focused, natural approach now training Rey. She stands to build a new order of Light Side Force users. Renaming this seems appropriate. A Skywalker Knight would be the new Jedi, and the Skywalker family would be enshrined forever. I like that possibility a whole bunch.
